W. A. S. Benson pair Candleholders Brass English Arts & Crafts Aesthetic Movement
Here are a wonderful pair of counterbalanced candelabra by W. Made in England during the Arts & Crafts / Aesthetic Movement, they are weighted to sit overhanging a bookshelf or piano, and made of brass with copper bobeches. Benson was an English designer known for his lighting fixtures. They measure about 13 inches long, 5 1/4 inches wide, and 4 1/2 inches high. An identical pair (silverplated) are in the Art Institute of Chicago.
