Vintage Pair of Genuine Ram Horn and Brass Tabletop Candlestick Holders

For your consideration is this pair of antique tabletop genuine Ram horn and brass candlestick holders. These rustic looking pieces have been in the family for more years then I can remember.

I came across them while going through storage. They are exactly as found... Personally, I like the way the candlesticks look as is but I will leave the decision as to whether or not they should be cleaned and polished up to the new owner of these beautiful pieces of art.

Both pieces are made from genuine Ram horn and solid brass. Each horn features the traditional looking custom fitted brass candlestick holder top and a small 1.0" to 1.50" solid brass rod leg to help steady the horn when it's placed upon a flat surface. One horn measures approximately 13.0" in overall length, 6.50" in width and 6.0 in height. The other horn measures approximately 11.0" in overall length, 7.0" in width and 6-3/8 in height. The candle holders each have an opening to accept a candlestick measuring approximately 1.0" in diameter with a drip edge that measures approximately 2-1/8" in diameter.

The brass on each piece has acquired a beautiful natural patina over the years. The brass accents have a few small dents and bends but none interfere with the functionality of the pieces. Personally, although I believe the noted issues with the brass could be mitigated if the new owner so desired, I always like the look and believed it added a touch of rustic character and charm to the pieces. Each horn is in solid condition with one horn being in a little better condition than the other.

The larger horn has a few natural cracks and splits along the curves of the horn and tip but remains solid and attractive. The smaller horn shows a little more cracks and splits around its curved horn parts and at the tip but also remains to be a very solid and attractive piece. Please note, the aforementioned notwithstanding, all authentic Ram horns naturally split and crack along the curved surfaces of the horn. This happens naturally and is commonly seen on Ram horn mounts and artwork. For more details about what I have described, please refer to the description photographs.

This set of genuine Ram horn candlestick holders would look fantastic in a rustic home, man cave or atop anyone's dinner table, fireplace mantle or counter top.
