Vintage Alter Brass Candlesticks Tall Rare! From Late 1800's

VINTAGE BRASS TALL ALTAR CANDLESTICKS. These magnificent brass candlesticks belonged to the Roman Catholic Diocese in Detroit, Michigan and date from the late 1800's to the Early 1900's. They were used in the chapel of the Archdiocese of Detroit in the exclusive Palmer Woods neighborhood.

This neighborhood's architectural anchor is the 40,000 square foot Tudor home which served as the official Residence for Detroit's first Archbishop, Michael Gallagher. It is the largest residence within the city limits. The candlesticks are spectacular in height and weight. Each weighs 9.5 pounds and they measure 27 tall. With the included candlesticks, they measure approximately 43 in height. The octagonal bases measure 7 wide. Includes two brass draft protectors as seen in the pictures. These were commissioned in Italy specifically for the Roman Catholic Diocese in Detroit. These have been in her possession since that time and have been lovingly displayed in her south Florida estate. A set of ten (10) white beeswax candles are included with this listing.
