Please see our other sales for some nice examples. These unusual transitional candlesticks from the middle to late 1700's have stepped round bases and are cast and engine turned with prominent top knops and slender stems.

Each stands 8 3/8" tall and one has a 3 3/4" diameter base while its mate has 3 7/8 diameter base. Please study the images to note several other differences in details of design. While definitely not mates, the rarity of design and similarity of size makes them good decorative companions.
