EARLY ANTIQUE 17th CENTURY BRASS CANDLESTICK LIGHTING CANDLE HOLDER. That being there is more copper in its original construction and hence the piece has a slightly more copper color. This piece has not been brought to market and was assembled by a collector who traveled extensively to find original period 17th century lighting. Each was found tucked away in a corner cupboard and are in the condition they were found. As such there is some dust and wax drippings from old candles on each. They were literally unmoved or handled for an untold number of years. This candlestick could be cleaned up and polished if one chose to undertake the time and effort. We personally feel the need to offer them in their original as found patina and character; though again the purchaser could display them in what ever means they see fit and at their discretion. Likely Spanish, this is a good example of period metalworking in early lighting dating from the 17th century. Stands 5" tall with a squared base measurement of 4".

Please consult the images for signs of original construction and condition. There is some wear to the piece; one small area of loss through on the first area of the raised circular area above the square base. The stem threads with the piece leaning slightly to one side.

This could be fixed by placing some paper or a felt disc into the threading. About good+/very good condition; though considering the piece is over 300 years old its amazing its survived time in the first place. Again all aforementioned areas of condition are signs one could expect of a candlestick that was made and used for so many centuries!
