Matching Pair of Antique Oak Barley Twist Wood Candlesticks 8 H : Possibly from France. FINE Brass Bobeche Tops, refined European turned bases. These are of European origin, we estimate from mid 19th C or earlier and may be from France; as the bases are refined and gently turned with a vase shaped base and finely pressed brass Bobeche candle holder tops. English wood bases of this type are traditionally a simpler dish shape, thicker and and heavier. We have not cleaned the brass tops nor altered the finish, as we would leave this to the buyers discretion as to how much to clean the patina from these collectible antique candlesticks. The brass bobeche tops show wax residue and are both a bit out of round, with one having a small crack at the rim.
