Antique 17th C Spanish Candlestick Early Brass Lighting C. 1690 Candle Holder

Nice turnings to this circa 1680 Spanish Brass Domed Base Candlestick. Has one ejector hole mid socket that would have been used to work out bits of the wax or tallow candle.

One small 1/4 bend area to base rim. Does not appear to have any brazing or repair. Intial "W or M and C or O" is scratched into the underside interior rim, suggestive of the initals of some original owner at somepoint in its lifetime. Thread through stem to base.

Again some general age wear to the surface from a piece over 300 years old. A nicely cast and constructed example of a period piece. No movement or play to the stem. Usual marks of time and age, about very good- condition. Stands 7 1/4" tall with a 5 1/4" base diameter.

Out of an Amazing Collection of Early European Candlesticks accumulated over decades.
