AN EARLY 18TH C ENGLISH QA BRASS CANDLESTICK BALUSTER FORM OCTAGONAL PETAL BASE. AN EXTREMELY FINE EARLY 18TH ENGLISH QUEEN ANNE PERIOD BRASS CANDLESTICK IN OLD COLOR AND FINE CONDITION. NICE CONDITION AND GREAT OLD COLOR AND PATINA.

A wonderful example of an early 18th Century Style Candlestick. Great form, a VERY FINE SHAPED AND STEPPED PETAL OCTAGONAL base with a heavy molded baluster shaft ending is a heavy turned and decorated petal SHAPED candle socket. Made in the 18th century manner, the base is sand cast and lathe turned and the shaft is seamed. The color is grungy and untouched deep and yellow. The condition is very nice, just the minor dings and surface abrasions you would expect from over 300 years.

There is one very tight line(1/8) on the top candle rim, (see photos). The stick is still tight. 8 1/4" tall and the base is about 4 3/4". For a similar examples, see, "Early American Antique Country Furnishings", by George Neumann, as well as "The Brass Book", by Schiffer, pages 196-197. Typical wear and imperfections with age.
