A Fantastic Late 16th Or Early 17th C Dutch Knob Stem Brass MID Drip Candlestick

A FANTASTIC LATE 16TH OR EARLY 17TH C DUTCH KNOB STEM BRASS MID DRIP CANDLESTICK. STRAIGHT OUT OF AN OLD CONNECTICUT COLLECTION OF EARLY LIGHTING.

THIS LATE 16TH OR EARLY 17TH CENTURY BRASS CANDLESTICK IS AN EXTREMELY RARE SURVIVOR. ONE OF THE VERY BEST 17TH CENTURY DUTCH BRASS KNOB STEMMED TALL MID DRIP CANDLESTICK IN GREAT OLD SURFACE AND NICE CONDITION. It has a great knobbed stem and a wonderful incise line decorated scalloped base.

The tall mid drip pan is lathe turned and has a rimmed lip. Made in the typical 16th - 17th Century manner, the stick is sand cast molded in THREE pieces then lathe turned and hand finished.

The turnings on the upper and lower shafts are the very best, deep and highly turned. The color is deep and yellow. The condition is near perfect, just the minor dings and surface abrasions you would expect from over 400 years of use.

The only repair/restoration is the addition of an old solder paste on the bottom, (see photos). This was probably to tighten the stick from 400 years of wear to the threads. This great stick is 13" tall with a 6" base and a 4 drip pan. This stick we is an extremely rare 16th - 17th century Candlesticks and is worthy of the most advanced collection of lighting.

Sticks like this rarely come on the open market. Typical wear and imperfections with age. Low starting Price and NO reserve.
